Phase 1: The Sprout (0 - 6 Months)

Grab a warm mug and settle in. If you’re in this phase, your home likely smells of milk and laundry, and your heart is probably hovering somewhere outside your body. In the Whispering Woods of development, your little one is a Sprout - vulnerable, breathtakingly new, and just beginning to find the light.

The Achievement & The Struggle

In these first months, we celebrate the "First Bloom"- the Social Smile and the quiet strength of Head Control. But let’s be honest: the struggle is often the "Heavy Head" wobble. It’s hard work being a sprout! You might feel the pressure to "train" or "fix" their schedule, but right now, they are simply learning how to be in the world.

The Development Connection

Everything at this stage is sensory. Their brain is a sponge for rhythm. When they "coo," they aren't just making noise; they are testing the music of language. When they track your face, they are anchoring themselves to their safest harbor: you.

The ALANUNU Sleep Guide

Sleep right now is about the Circadian Rhythm. Your sprout doesn't have a clock; they have a heartbeat. To help them find their rhythm, we focus on the "Architecture of Quiet"- a nursery environment that feels like a calm grove. Dim lights and soft voices aren't just for them; they help your nervous system regulate, too.

The Slow Living & Natural Nursery Environment

Presence over Performance. There is no "winning" at 3:00 AM. There is only being present.

As you look at their delicate skin, you’ll notice how sensitive they are to the world. While they aren't ready for heavy bedding yet, this is the time to start observing how natural fibers breathe. Synthetic materials can trap heat, causing those "sweat-shivers" that wake a sleeping baby. Thinking about the purity of their environment now is the first step toward a lifetime of better rest.
