Kappy and the Halloween Fizz - When the world fizzes too fast, find your calm
Lovell W.Share
The night was cool and sparkly - perfect for Halloween. Pumpkins blinked like sleepy stars along the street.
Vera twirled on the porch, her unicorn horn glittering in the moonlight. “Come on, Sebby! The ghosts are floating and the candy’s calling!”
Sebby, dressed as a brave starship captain, tugged at his shiny boots. “It’s just… so much noise, Vera. Every door slam feels like thunder in my chest.”
Just then, a soft “plop-plop” came up the walkway. It was their friend, Kappy the Capybara, wearing only his tiny knitted pumpkin hat.
“Hello, little ones,” said Kappy, his voice as slow as a river. “Feeling the Halloween Fizz, are we, Sebby?”
“The Fizz?” Sebby blinked.
Kappy nodded. “It’s when the world spins too fast, and your heart tries to keep up.”
Around the corner, a flurry of costumes rushed by - a hissing Minecraft Creeper, two dancing K-pop Demon Hunters, and a laughing witch on wheels!
The street sparkled and shouted.
“That’s the Fizz,” Kappy said kindly. “Loud, fast, fun - but a little too fizzy for some hearts.”
Vera wanted to help her best friend. “So… how do we un-fizz it?”
Kappy smiled. “We do the Capybara Calm. When the world speeds up, you slow down.”
Kappy sat down on the front porch and showed them how.
“First, plant your feet. Feel the ground - strong as tree roots.”
Sebby and Vera followed Cappy, "planted" their sneakers on the deck.
“Next,” said Kappy, “take a big sip of the cool night air - in… one, two, three.”
They breathed in together.
“Now let it float out, slow and gentle - like a leaf drifting on a quiet pond. Out… one, two, three, four.”
They did it together, three times.
With each breath, the lights twinkled softer. The sounds grew friendly instead of loud.
Sebby grinned. “The fizz is fizzling out!”
Vera clapped quietly. “We stopped the rush!”
Kappy nodded. “You made your own calm spot. Now you can walk at your own perfect pace.”
And so they did - hand in hand, crunching through the leaves, their candy bags slowly filling.
Wherever they went, the night felt just right - steady, sparkly, and calm.
The end.
